How do I care for my soap?

Our handmade soap doesn't contain any synthetic preservatives or artificial hardeners because we focus on bringing the most natural and holistic experience. With just a little care and feeding, you can prolong the life of your soapie. • Don't let your soap drown or sit in water . • Feed your soap plenty of fresh air between uses. The drier it gets, the longer it will last. • Store your soap on a well drained soap dish at all time. Most soap dishes should have a small whole to drain excess water. • Use a cotton wash cloth or loofah to extend its life rather than rubbing the bar all over yourself. • Use your fresh new soap within 6 months of purchase.

Does your soap contain LYE??

ALL soap, including Skin To Soul soapies, is made using lye. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is used to make bars, and potassium hydroxide (KOH) is used for liquid soap. In a properly produced soap, lye is a raw ingredient, but there is no lye that remains in the final product. All lye is consumed in the saponification process and presents no danger to you. Superfatting further assures that all lye is consumed. Any company that claims their soap is not made with lye is either promoting false information or doesn't understand the chemistry behind soap.

What if my soap has imperfections?

Handcrafted soap is processed and cut by hand; thus no two bars will exactly alike. Temperature can make color appear slightly different from batch to batch, while design may also vary. Small pockets of air may form from a thick batter being poured. It does not affect the quality of the soap in the least!
